Jaron 'Boots' Ennis displayed a variety of skills versus Zayas

Make your opponent miss, make him pay and go home with two belts

It’s not often I go back and watch a fight, but a week after Jaron Ennis’ stoppage win over Xander Zayas in New York, there were a few moments worth revisiting.

Am I a tactical analysis guru when it comes to the sport of boxing? Certainly not! However, the first-round knockdown shows Ennis slipping a Zayas left hook and making him pay for overreaching.

‘Boots’ later displayed his willingness to stand inside the pocket and trade. Often taking shots he didn’t need to take, beating Zayas at his own game.

Look out for the beautiful evasive skills in round four when he makes the Puerto Rican miss with at least five punches, before roaring back with a furious flurry.

Lovely stuff.
