Ref takes a tumble and promoter offers to fight the crowd

Just another fight card in Australia...

There were a few fun and games in Queensland last week as Nikita Tszyu and Ben Mahoney went at it over 12 rounds. In the main event, referee Ignatius Missailidis lost his footing while trying to control the action.

Later on, during the post-fight interviews, promoter George Rose lost his temper with the crowd and offered anyone booing outside for a scrap.

Boxing as part of the famous fighting family, 28-year-old Tszyu admitted afterwards that he didn’t do enough to win. Danny Green, on commentary, thought otherwise. Seeking to follow in the footsteps of his father, Kostya, and brother, Tim, ‘Butcher’ Nikita must make improvements if he is to reach world-class.
