Seeing the great Roy Jones in the corner of Tony Curtis recently got me thinking about Jones’ role as a trainer, tasked with trying to extract juices of success from young hopefuls who possess nowhere near the talent he did.
Roy’s overall stint as a coach has been a mixed bag of underwhelming relationships. He has worked with relatively high-profile names like Chris Eubank Jr and Jean Pascal, but nothing has really stuck. Jones is expected to link up with Errol Spence ahead of Spence’s reported ring return versus Tim Tszyu later in the year.
