Late last night, as the dust settled in Saudi, I jumped on a call with Matty, Justin, Rob and Des to discuss AJ’s win over Prenga and a bit of chat about Fury, who beat Wach in Thailand.
Naturally, opinions varied, but I personally felt that Joshua could barely hold a shot and looked dangerously disorganised.
Yes, the offensive instincts, power and boxing brain seem to still be present in some capacity. However, no decent fighter lets him exit that first round. Prenga’s nerves, inexperience (or something more sinister), saw him collapse in the second round after a shocking opener.
The powerbrokers will likely still make the AJ-Fury fight because this is boxing and money is on the table. Fury has also slipped, but nowhere near the same level as AJ, in my opinion.
