This was a great discussion! Personally, I think Inoue has no choice but to move up in weight if he wants to cement his legacy and be remembered as an all-time great. Like you guys mentioned, Inoue is a generational talent. But unfortunately, the lower weights aren't as popular as the higher ones. If Inoue moved up to featherweight he would have a plethora of opponents to choose from. Saying that, some of these guys at featherweight are massive in comparison to him. Still, I would love to see Inoue vs Lopez, Lara or even Espinoza - not sure how realistic this is though.

Thanks, Dan. Yes, I believe size will be his ultimate challenge as he moves up the weights seeking greater opportunities to shine. Des suggested they might keep him away from punchers and Lopez is said to be moving up, while Robeisy has already moved up. Seeing Inoue tackle someone the size of a Brandon Figueroa would be a sight. Given their respective frames.

Yeah Figueroa is listed at 5’8 on boxrec, three inches taller than Inoue. And Figueroa’s only loss came against Fulton which was via majority decision so it could be an interesting fight.

That's right, was a good fight too. A few thought Figueroa won but I thought Fulton just about nicked it.
